What the Heck?If you are wondering what these road rage falling/rising buttons are for, it's what Monkey Meter is all about.
When I started this site I knew that some days were just worst than others. What I didn't know is when or why? I still don't know why, but I doubt it's the full moon. What I do know...pretty much...is if it is going to be a crazy road raging day or not. Monkey Meter has had over 20,000 users that have rated their road rage, and that has become a pretty good number to see all sorts of trends. For example, I know that Thursday are usually the worse days for road rage. There may not be as many accidents, less cars on road compared to Friday, but Thursdays received the highest ratings in 2005. I also know that around 3:00 p.m. is a good time to see tempers flair. So what the heck and how does it work? The way I determine if is rising or falling is by taking the last 150 user input ratings, and comparing them with the previous 150. Pretty simple! In regards to city inputs I have limited this comparing to the last 20 user inputs with the previous 20 user inputs. The indicators update live so your input effects it's output that second. The more people that use MonkeyMeter, and rate their road rage the more accurate the indicators become. Because the site has been growing with so many faithful raters I am starting to get enough data to begin forecasting. Using data from MonkeyMeter mixed with data about speeders, and misc. offenses from the NHTSA I should be able to come up with a reasonably accurate method of forecasting what road rage is going to be like not just tomorrow but next week. I hope you like this site, and have rated your road rage. Don't forget to take my poll! To see more about Monkey Meter trends visit this link: Traffic Trends
