The Privacy Policy is designed to assist you in understanding how I collect and use the personal information you provide, and to assist you in making informed decisions when using the site.

What Information Do I Collect?

When you visit the site there may be two types of information provided by you: personal information you knowingly choose to disclose that is collected on an individual basis (Like the bulletin board), and web site use information collected on an aggregate basis as you and others browse the site.

When visiting this site the past 48 hours are tracked, and then deleted automatically.  What computer (IP address), where you came from (the referring domain that led you here if applicable), and what pages you visited on my site.  Your IP address is stored indefinitely if you rated your road rage to prevent abuse, and is also logged when participating in a poll.  The IP address is deleted from the poll log when the poll has been completed.

Email Information

If you choose to correspond with me through email, I may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and my responses.  I will not add your email to my newsletter, nor use/post it on the site unless you specifically request it.  SPAM sent to Monkeymeter.com is not a type of correspondence, and will be reported.

If you have joined my newsletter every message sent includes an easy one step process (you click on a link), and you will be removed from the database.

When you join the newsletter the action is logged with a unique identifier, including date and time.

Web Site Use Information

Similar to other commercial Web sites, this Web site utilizes a standard technology called "cookies" (see explanation below, "What Are Cookies?") and Web server logs to collect information about how the site is used. Information gathered through cookies and Web server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at the site, and the Web sites visited just before and just after my site.  

What Are Cookies?

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a Web site, that site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each Web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a Web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Sharing Information with Third Parties

The only information that will be available to third parties are the ratings generated by the users in regards to the road rage level tracking the score, time and city. Your email information that you have submitted for use of the bulletin board or newsletter is to be used strictly just for that, and will not be sold or given to any other party.
